Florida Congresswoman indicted in alleged scheme to steal $5 million from FEMA to fund her 2021 campaign : reports

U.S. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-Fla. 20) was indicted by a Federal grand jury and charged with an alleged conspiracy reportedly involving her brother, Edwin Cherfilus, to steal FEMA disaster relief funds during the Coronavirus pandemic, to launder the proceeds, and to make personal use of some of those funds. Prosecutors alleged that a substantial amount of the monies were then used to fund Cherfilus-McCormick's 2021 campaign for Congress.
