Fears are increasing that the long-term impact of the U.S. Government shutdown may put pressure on economic activity, particularly in the aviation industry. To ensure air traffic safety, the Federal Government has ordered a decrease in the number of flights at the Nation's top 40 airports, leading to cancellations. The annual holiday seasons usually leads to a peak in air travel, but perhaps not this year.
