Breakaway faction of Democrats side with Republicans on a bipartisan plan to reöpen the U.S. Government

In collaboration with a group of Democrats, Republicans have advanced a plan that could lead to the reöpening of the U.S. Government. The plan notably omits a guarantee for continuing subsidies for Obamacare premiums, invoking the wrath of healthcare advocates, who had sought the extension. The eight U.S. Senators supporting the budget compromise were : Catherine Cortez Masto, Dick Durbin, John Fetterman, Maggie Hassan, Tim Kaine, Angus King, Jacky Rosen, and Jeanne Shaheen.
