— When Mayor-elect Zohran K. Mamdani (D) was campaigning for office, he boasted about having the majority of Gen Z voters. At 34, he rode the wave of Democratic Party sentiment demanding a generational change in leadership. As a candidate, Mamdani said we needed to "turn the page" on the politics of the past. But he's centering his top aides around Dean Fuleihan, age 74, who's been in Government for nearly 50 years.
