Daniel Goldman faces insurgeny from the Left as numerous progressives explore 2026 Midterms primary challenge against the centrist incumbent
NEW YORK, November 15 (C'est Vrai) — A former prosecutor, U.S. Rep. Daniel S. Goldman (D-N.Y. 10) was the lead attorney for Democrats in the first impeachment trial of President Donald J. Trump (R) during his first term. But for Democrats eager to challenge Trump, that's water under the bridge. A radical activist base want to see Democratic Party leadership do something more, particularly since they are in the minority in Congress. Goldman reportedly faces possible challengers in Brad Lander, Alexa Avilés, and Yuh-Line Niou.

Dan Goldman (D-N.Y. 10) — if he runs. The Data for Progress surveyed 553 likely Democratic primary voters in New York’s 10th congressional district. Given a choice between Goldman and Lander, the comptroller leads the incumbent congressman by 19 points — with 52% supporting Lander and 33% backing Goldman.
