O. J. Simpson's estate settles decades-old wrongful death lawsuit with the family of Ron Goldman

The estate of O. J. Simpson announced that it has agreed to settle the outstanding debt stemming from a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of Ronald L. Goldman, a former waiter, who was killed outside of the condominium belonging to Nicole Brown Simpson on the night of her murder. The former football star was acquitted in 1995 of the double-murder but lost a civil trial in 1997 for monetary damages.

Nov. 15, 2025 — OJ Simpson's estate has taken a big step toward paying out the multi-million dollar civil judgment a California judge granted to Ron Goldman's family back in 1997. The breakthrough comes over 31 years after Ron Goldman, 25, and Nicole Brown Simpson, the former football star's ex-wife, were brutally stabbed to death outside her home in Brentwood, a crime Simpson was acquitted of in 1995 after an eight-month trial.

Nov. 15, 2025 — Fred Goldman may be closer to finally receiving payment from O. J. Simpson’s estate nearly three decades after winning a wrongful death judgment against the former football great, who was acquitted of killing his son.

Aug. 2, 2024 — When O. J. Simpson passed away on April 10, his long-time lawyer, Malcolm LaVergne, vowed that the Goldman famliy would get nothing from Simpson's estate. As it turns out though, the Goldman family will be getting something after a probate judge in Nevada agreed with a plan to auction off some of Simpson's most valuable and high-profile items. According to the Los Angeles Times, some of the items that will be going up for auction are a Heisman Trophy along with an SUV that Simpson owned.
