In a row over alleged editorial bias, the BBC seeks the intervention of Prime Minister Keir Starmer (Labour Party-U.K.) to calm President Donald Trump (R-U.S.). The BBC has been "thrown into turmoil" since the revelation that a clip broadcast by the BBC in 2024 of Trump's address to participants of the Jan. 6 insurrection on the U.S. Capitol was spliced from different parts of his speech. In the U.S., Trump has reportedly sought large money settlements from American media as a form of control.
